The location of the serial number on PRS guitar varies depending on the model, with some having it hand-painted or printed on the headstock, while others feature it printed on the neck plate.

The serial numbers on all Paul Reed Smith guitars and basses start with a prefix indicating the year. This one or two-digit prefix stands for the last digit (s) of the production year and applies to all models below.
